A new obligation: automatic temperature monitoring from July 1, 2026
The amendment to Decree No. 129/2012 of the Slovak Collection of Laws on Good Pharmacy Practice introduces an obligation for every pharmacy in Slovakia, effective July 1, 2026:
- Automatic temperature recording (and humidity in the dispensary) at least every 2 hours
- In the dispensary (sales area), storeroom and refrigerators
- Daily records archived for at least 12 months
- Calibrated measuring devices as per the relevant regulation
- Alerting on deviations from defined storage conditions
A standard certified thermometer and a handwritten logbook entry are no longer enough. During inspections, ŠÚKL (the Slovak State Institute for Drug Control) requires an electronic record and an audit-ready export.
Why Pharmacy IoT by Omnius
We built pharmacy temperature monitoring as an extension of our own KALM:IT platform for existing clients. Today it's used by more than 400 pharmacies and we have roughly 2,000 sensors in operation.
What sets us apart:
- No SIM cards, no extra connectivity fees, we use the pharmacy's existing Wi-Fi/LAN infrastructure
- Certified sensors, a calibration certificate for every unit lives directly in the KALM:IT platform, available to a ŠÚKL inspector at any time
- Our own service network, 3 branches across Slovakia, installation in half a day, calibration every 5 years by sensor replacement (we bring pre-calibrated units, you don't have to deal with anything)
- The solution is ours, we can adapt it to a single pharmacy or a large chain
- Two pricing options: monthly SaaS where we take care of everything, or a one-time hardware investment with an optional SLA. Your call.
How a ŠÚKL inspection goes
An inspector arrives and asks to see the records. In Pharmacy IoT you:
- Open the dashboard for the given pharmacy with a temperature overview for the required period
- Export a PDF report for the month/year with a single click
- Show the calibration certificates of every sensor right in the platform
- Provide the alert log and the record of resolved deviations
No digging through binders. No stress.
Who it's for
- Independent pharmacies, a complete package with installation and 24/7 monitoring
- Pharmacy chains, central dashboard for all branches, bulk alerts, unified reporting
- Hospital pharmacies, specialized storage, vaccines, biological samples, integration with hospital systems
- Pharmaceutical distributors, large cold storage warehouses, transport monitoring
Make the July 1, 2026 deadline
Installation takes half a day. We can move fast, but the sooner you reach out, the calmer the deadline will pass.
