In today's era of digital transformation, smart technologies have an ever greater impact on how cities and towns operate. The Devínska Nová Ves city district takes an active interest in modern solutions that can increase the efficiency of infrastructure management, improve the quality of life for residents and bring new opportunities for energy savings.
In cooperation with experts in IoT technologies, energy metering, data automation and artificial intelligence, an expert seminar was held where innovative approaches to smart solutions were discussed, and our KALM:IT platform for intelligent IoT ecosystem management was presented.
Key seminar topics
✅ IoT solutions for cities and municipalities
- How sensors and network solutions can help optimise the management of public spaces
- Examples of IoT deployment in transport, waste management and public safety
✅ Energy metering and smart energy management
- Automated energy consumption metering and its benefits
- Opportunities for predictive analytics for more efficient management of energy flows
✅ Data automation and the use of AI agents
- Using artificial intelligence to predict and optimise processes
- Practical examples of AI agents in infrastructure maintenance
✅ Crossovers into research and development
- Unexplored areas of IoT and AI offering room for innovation
- Connecting the academic sector, development teams and industrial partners
KALM:IT, the link between IoT data and intelligent decisions
KALM:IT was presented as a solution for collecting, analysing and automatically using data from various devices and sensors. The project can help municipalities with:
- 🏙️ Monitoring water, electricity and gas consumption for public buildings and apartment complexes
- 🚦 Traffic solutions and smart parking in urban zones
- ♻️ Optimisation of waste management through data analysis
The seminar also opened up a discussion about further possible R&D collaborations.
Conclusion
Municipalities that aren't afraid to experiment with new technologies gain not only higher efficiency in their processes, but also a competitive advantage.
The seminar was proof of city districts' interest in modern solutions and their openness to cooperation with experts.
